Gary Mayatt

Gary Mayatt

Gary has a wealth of experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, modular construction and renewables, having established successful and profitable businesses in both sectors. Having worked in the construction industry as a director for many years, Gary has a range of experience in different fields, but renewables and modular construction had always been of personal interest.

In 2012 the acquisition of an industry leading-Scottish offsite construction and render and aggregate manufacturing plant allowed him to extend his portfolio. The render and aggregate part of the business was successfully sold to Parex in 2019.

Gary has excelled in delivering a wide variety of demanding projects and has gained a reputation for quality efficiency and customer service. All of which has allowed Gary to expand the companies’ operations and reach.  He believes in investing heavily in training young people today, for future growth.

Gary’s passion for modular construction has been showcased by building his own personal projects to highlight the benefits of modular construction to local authorities and home builders. The company now boasts an impressive portfolio of offsite construction projects all over the UK.

Gary has won many awards including Dartford Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year KEiBA, Green champion and Best Green Service Provider.

Paul McIntyre

Architectural Manager

Paul has 30 years’ experience in the construction industry working on commercial, industrial, residential and mixed development sites with critical programmes and key stages, defined budgets and strict design parameters.

Acting as the head architect to consultants and co-ordinating all relevant design information. Paul has worked with the volumetric industry for over 20 years and has designed and built an impressive portfolio of projects.

Paul’s qualifications include B.Dip Arch, HND in Construction, FTCL.

Leon Atkinson

Quantity Surveyor

Leon Atkinson

Leon has gained extensive knowledge working as a Quantity Surveyor.  He is undertaking the QS role on many new projects for Enevate Homes, working with the clients, taking the projects from tender stage through to completion.

Leon commenced his career as an Estimator, and has worked on many large redevelopments, including change of use buildings from office to residential.  He worked closely with a team of surveyors which prompted him to swap disciplines.  Leon’s rounded understanding of the commercial side of projects and the construction industry has helped to develop his career.

Before joining Enevate Homes, Leon worked for Engie Regeneration for 5 years where he was involved with several schemes varying in value.

Alongside his BSc (H) in Quantity Surveying, Leon is working towards a MSc in Infrastructure Investment and Finance at University College London.  This is developing his understanding of the inner workings of large infrastructure projects in a range of industries.

John McMurray

QESH Manager

John McMurray

John is our QESH (Quality, Environment, Safety and Health) Manager and has a solid background in quality management dating back to BS5750.

John joined Enevate Homes in February 2020 where he reviews, monitors and evaluates our management systems with the aims of satisfying regulatory requirements, compliance and continual quality improvements.  Prior to joining Enevate Homes, John spent 30 years working within the manufacturing sector in various quality management roles.

With a strong focus on developing people and positive relations within the workplace, John encourages high-performance teamwork throughout our organisation.

John has an HND Business Information Systems, NVQ Level 5 Management, IRCA Lead Auditor, IOSH and NEBOSH.

Gerry Rose

Factory Fit Out Manager

Gerry Rose

Gerry has many years’ experience working within the construction industry.

Prior to joining Enevate Homes, Gerry worked on various new build projects as a freelance site manager.  From his experiences within the industry, with new technologies and design projects, Gerry believes that modular buildings are the way forward for the construction industry and is keen to promote the benefits.  As our Factory Fit Out Manager, Gerry manages the process of first and second fixes, overseeing the modules to completion.

Gerry finds working with Enevate Homes rewarding and enjoys working with a team that has such a wealth of skills and experience in this field.

Jim Mcfarlane

Factory Manager

Jim Mcfarlane

Jim has over 20 years’ managerial experience within the manufacturing industry backed up by NVQ and IOSH qualifications. He has been registered for 20 years in first aid.

He leads the factory’s manufacturing from planning to implementation and completion of our modular system.

Jim is known for his hands on approach within the factory and open door policy.

Berni Halse

HR Manager

Berni Halse

Berni has 30 years’ experience working in HR, and now oversees Enevate Homes HR requirements. Berni’s role encompasses producing employment contracts and dealing with general staff issues.  Over the past seventeen years Berni has been involved in the whole HR mix, including policy writing, implementation of the performance management system along with recruitment and selection processes.

Previously to joining Enevate Homes, Berni’s vast experience within the HR industry has seen her start her career as personnel assistant to the HR Manager at a civil engineering firm, John Taylor & Sons. She then spent 17 years working, initially in graduate recruitment and laterally as HR Manager in entrepreneurial services for EY.  After the birth of her first daughter, Berni also worked for Société Générale and Halifax Bank of Scotland for two years before joining Enevate Homes.

Karen Franklin

Accounts Manager

Karen Franklin

Karen joined Enevate Homes in September 2020 as our Accounts Manager.  Karen looks after all of our accounting needs, prioritising costs and spending.  Karen also has responsibility for our payroll.  Karen works with our accountants to ensure that our accounts are true and fair.

Prior to working with us, Karen has held accounts positions at Admiral Underwriting and G5 Services Limited (a mechanical and electrical engineering organisation).  Karen’s career has predominantly been numbers based, but she has spent time as a secretary for an insurance brokerage, a nursery school assistant and receptionist in a local hairdresser, whilst her two children were growing up.
