As our new business development manager, you will work closely with the Directors to identify and procure potential or new modular/offsite business clientele. You will demonstrate success within the construction industry. Your emphasis is on developing accounts through networking and negotiating. You will promote various services of the business, including breakthrough products and services, cost reductions, and technology assessments.
Whether through cold calling or visiting client locations you will try various means to acquire new accounts. Target business opportunities include building clients and modular/ offsite stakeholders to maximise profit. You must be conversant about the development, design, purpose, and specifications of all our business products and services.
Responsibilities include
- Ability to identify new business opportunities and then to turn potential into orders in line with commercial expectations.
- Sound knowledge of the key influencers within the construction industry.
- Strong IT skills including the management and usage of a CRM system.
- Strong presenter and influencer
- To communicate the business value proposition into the client across varying sectors by understanding our proposition, both commercially and technically, being able to hold a conversation both written and verbally on our commercial and technical expertise.
- Experience engaging with stake holders within influential UK Building Clients.
- Solid relationships with clients, modular providers, and asset owners within the UK
- In-depth knowledge of construction supply chains and contracts
- Full UK Driving License and able to travel as required.
Skills required
- Proven track record of selling complex solutions
- Ability to generate own sales leads through various methods including networking, personal prospecting, and events
- Self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised within a dynamic environment
- Proven record of managing lengthy and complex pipeline deals
- As well as having formal sales training you will need to be a polished, well-presented salesperson who can deal with people at senior levels
- Must be flexible and willing to travel to any location and work away from home when needed
- Must show desire to be successful and willingness to learn and develop.
